Amongst the fields of wheat and grass
Stood the tall brass of Lady Guanyin’s mercy
She sought his hand to place in hers
And accept that love for which he’s worthy

The dying man would not embrace her. His soul was sightless to see his saviour.
Undeserved of good fortune, the sinner believed, unbeknown to him of good fortune’s creed
Blind to the truth of this virtuous call, he begged her for his destined fall

Doubtful, he had become, of love, he brushed her hand away
Cynical, as men will be, to accept, his decaying face flushed with grey
Disbelieving, the men convert, to lies, this world had led him astray
Lost is my faith, in redemption, unseeing of a righteous way

So
Cast me aside and burn me whole, let the fires cleanse this evil soul
For my actions deserve a consequence

The Lady, stained with sorrowful smile
Took him in her arms
Soft like feathers the words she spoke
Deep into his soul
The man exhaling breaths of hope,
To not let your burdens consume you
To forgive yourself for being forgetful, for being immoral
For you are only human

Cleanse your heart of such derisible flaws, fall not as prey to darkness’ paws
For the beast will surely consume you

Accept the mercy the heavens have shown
Absolve yourself of your sins and woes
Fall to your knees and open your arms
And embrace the warmth of our loving charm
Let death carry you quietly

Amongst the fields of wheat and grass
Stood the tall brass of Lady Guanyin’s statue
Beneath her sat still a soulless man
Invoking her presence as his final act
To seek the Lady’s pity
Redeeming himself of his wrongs, she sent him to the next life
To await his peace and mercy.
